Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 14, 2026. Accurate, code-verified explanation of cookies and local storage mechanisms used on DudeMath.

Overview

1. What Technologies Are Used?

Clear distinction between cookies and local browser storage.

DudeMath (https://dudemath.me) uses standard web storage technologies, including HTTP cookies and HTML5 localStorage, to maintain interface preferences and measure technical platform performance.

Client-Side Processing Note: When you calculate values using our 27 STEM calculators, your inputs and calculation results are executed locally in your browser and are never stored in cookies or transmitted to any server.

Inventory

2. Exact Storage & Cookie Inventory

A transparent breakdown of every storage item currently active or configured.

  • Functional Local Storage (localStorage):
    • theme: Stores your dark/light color scheme preference locally on your device.
    • dudemath_consent: Stores your cookie banner choice (granted or denied) so you are not prompted on every page load.
  • Performance Analytics (Google Analytics 4):

We deploy Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-T37T0NEKR4) strictly to monitor technical platform stability, aggregated visitor counts, and page load errors. Google Consent Mode v2 is configured with analytics_storage: denied by default until user interaction occurs. IP addresses are masked, and no personally identifiable calculation records are collected.

  • Advertising Technologies (Google AdSense — Pending Approval):

DudeMath is currently undergoing review for Google AdSense monetization (Publisher ID: ca-pub-7880355220743393). Upon final approval, third-party cookies (such as Google DoubleClick and DART cookies) will be served to deliver non-intrusive contextual advertisements that finance free public access to our computational suite.

Preferences

3. Advertising Opt-Out Options

How to control personalized advertising preferences.

When third-party advertising cookies are served, you have the right to opt out of personalized tracking at any time:

  • Opt out of Google personalized ads via Google Ad Settings.
  • Opt out of third-party advertising cookies across networks via the Digital Advertising Alliance at aboutads.info or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at youronlinechoices.eu.

Browser Controls

4. How to Manage or Block Cookies

Native browser settings to clear and prevent cookie placement.

You can configure your web browser to reject cookies, delete existing cookies, or alert you when a cookie is placed:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Enhanced Tracking Protection
  • Apple Safari: Settings > Safari > Advanced > Privacy & Cookies
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies

Clearing local storage will simply reset your selected dark/light theme and cookie consent banner preferences.
